In the excitement of getting my ring, I haven’t even talked about anything else from Christmas yet.
We got up at 6am. Took our turkey out of the brine we had it in overnight. (Using, of course, Alton Brown’s recipe.) Got it prepped and in the oven. Then, we did out Christmas gift exchange since we were up. I got Love a bunch of little things like a few bags of Godiva Candy Cane gems (I had been stocking up on them for like a month!), a Harry Potter wand (one of his favorite gifts this year!), a video game, a Rubik’s Cube Tissue Box Cover (like from Big Bang Theory!) and a green Honda Element Tee.
In addition to my ring, I got matching earrings and pendant too:
After turning the turkey down and finishing our gifts, I took a 2 hour nap.
Then we finished up the turkey, got ready and headed to my Mom’s. Mom got me a nice 3/4 dark purple shirt, some capri’s, pj’s and my traditional Frosty Friends Ornament. My sister got me a GORGEOUS Fossil watch.
It’s rose gold and so pretty! I couldn’t believe she got it for me but I love it. (I got it sized the same day I took my ring in for sizing.)
Few hours at Mom’s and we had to head out. Went back home, dropped off the gifts, packed up the next batch of gifts and the turkey. (For the record, a 55QT plastic storage container works perfectly for transporting a full 21lb turkey!) Headed down to Love’s parent’s house.
Love’s parents got me an adorable Mickey Mouse watch with a red leather band. They got Love a classic Mickey Mouse watch (the type where Mickey’s arms are the hour and minute hands) with a brown strap. Very cute.
We ate the turkey – which was given absolute RAVE reviews by everyone in Love’s family (it was DAMN good) – and hung out for a little while before heading home. It had been a VERY long day starting at 6am, over 150 miles driven, 21lb turkey cooked, two families visited and much fun, love and laughter had.
All-in-all a very successful holiday!
Sounds like you had a great time and some wonderful gifts! My watch is a Fossil watch too, I quite like their stuff.
My best gift was from my parents…. A boxful of Lush stuff. I had to order it myself on Christmas day and their website was manic and kept crashing so it took hours, but I did get a load of 50% off Christmas stuff and a few other bits & bobs!
I’m officially a Fossil junkie. I have like 12 of their bags and two watches and even a pair of sandals. Mind you, over in Orlando there is a Fossil outlet store so I get the $200 bags for like $40-50 there instead and I’ve been collecting them for years so it’s not as bad as it sounds. LOL
There’s a Lush store at one of the malls around here. Always packed. 😉 Glad you were able to get more even if you did have to wait a little longer!
