Friday I hung out with some of my family at a place called John’s Pass. First, I met up with my Mom. Parked my car at a convenient Target parking lot and then we drove to my sister’s. Picked her up. Then we went to my Aunt’s condo. (She lives in NJ but they got a condo here last year to do a little snow birding.) We all piled in her Prius and headed on out.
John’s Pass is a touristy area comprised of a boardwalk, a ton of shops, restaurants and such. It’s on the intercoastal side, directly across from Madeira Beach. My Aunt wanted to go and shop and browse and it was a great chance for us to all get together. (Making two sets of sisters; my mom and her sister and my sister and I!)
We wandered and browsed, chatting and just getting out for a few hours. Sadly, we never made it across the street to walk on the actual beach. (It was getting late and everyone was getting understandably tired.) Madeira is really a lovely beach and I was looking forward to getting my toes in the sand a little. For all that we have 22 miles of white sand beaches in the area, I rarely if ever actually get to them. It’s just not the quickest or easiest drive out to the beaches from my apartment.
(An older photo of mine showing one of the walkways leading to Madeira Beach.)
Still though, it was a nice day. Getting out and about is never a bad thing!
