Ok, not literally daily but I do find myself taking a lot of pics of my girls. First, because they’re always around. LOL And second, because dammit, I think they’re adorable. Plus, cats are a great way to practice photography because they move a lot, they’re quick, you have to really get a good lock on them to get the sharpness you want, etc. Which all just means I have a lot of pics of my cats that I think look nice and so I post them. Hey, it’s my blog, if I want it full of cats, well then it will be like the rest of the internet!
Come on, with faces like that how can I not take pics of them? For those curious about that kind of thing, both shots were taken with my 60mm f/2.8 macro lens. I use it normally for my jewelry but I’ve recently found it good in other situations as well.
That macro lens is my fave lens ever! I’ve had it for years and it’s rarely off the camera.
Mika (US) is so beautiful, Gracie too. Mika (UK) tends to stalk off when the camera appears these days!
It’s funny because I normally only use it on macro shots like flowers and my jewelry but I was at Epcot a couple weekends ago and taking shots of flowers when the monorail came by and I quickly panned up and got this shot: http://www.thefloridaproject.com/blog/2013/04/16/disney-picture-of-the-day-2/ I really was impressed with how crisp it was for a wider, landscape type image. So I had it on the camera to take jewelry pics and I decided to use it get some of the girls and really loved how they came out. Much like my Nifty Fifty, I think it’s a lens I need to play with more because it’s really nice! 🙂
I had a similar situation… I was taking photos of the flowers in the garden one summer when next door’s cat appear and I got a nice shot of it 🙂
