Just some general updates of what’s been going on lately… Love’s MRI Results came back. Everything is fine. Which is good but…it leaves us still having no clue what’s causing his miserable, debilitating vertigo. The ENT gave him a round of antivirals and heavy dose 1-week pack of prednisone to see if it helps. Kind…

Beverly Hills
Note: this entry was from yesterday. Sent it from my cell. But it didn’t post. So I am manually posting it today. Greetings from Beverly Hills..Florida that is! Not anywhere near exciting as the more famous version I imagine. This is rural horse country about 1.5 hours north of Tampa Bay Area. Its my Nanny’s…
Let’s Get [A] Physical, Physical…
Ha! I slay me. /80’s humor I had my physical this morning. 8:45am. Early morning is early. When the alarm went off at 7:40am, I thought very unkind things toward it. First they took my vitals. (BP 120/85) Next, three vials of blood. (Ouch!) Then, they had me do the obligatory pee-in-a-cup. Then I had…
Post MRI
Love’s MRI went quicker than expected. It was 20 minutes without contrast, then 6 more minutes with. They had chairs in the room so they had me lock up my purse and watch and I sat in the room with him. I read an old issue of People magazine that was in there. Couldn’t bring…
4th Week of August
This August is really long. It has five weeks in it. Today is the 4th Monday of the month and there’s another one next Monday. Odd. So I’m finally on the mend. My cold is definitely winding down. My nose and upper lip are healing up (they cracked and scaled from all the nose-blowing) and…
Wednesday
It poured all day yesterday. I mean, all day long. That’s unusual for Florida to have hours and hours of sustained downpour like that. This morning, the sky rumbled and grumbled and let loose even more rain. It’s overcast now with scattered showers to continue through late afternoon. The good thing is that it keeps…
Garage Sale Wrap Up
Man it was hot today. Long, hot day. But all in all, it went pretty darn good this weekend. The garage sale was a success. My sister took Saturday duty and they had a ton of people and sold a lot of the big items and made a whopping $500 for the day! So awesome….
Happy Birthday Rand
Today would have been Rand’s 44th birthday. It’s the second birthday since his passing. Not going to say much here I’ll start crying but… I miss you, Rand. Happy Birthday.
End of the Week
It’s the end of another week and we’re in the final days of July. Hard to imagine it’s almost August. Tomorrow, we have the big garage sale at Mom’s house. I’m heading up there when Love gets home to bring up a few more items and my sister had more items to bring up as…
Overdid It Yesterday
Headed up to Mom’s yesterday to help sort, organize and price all the various items for the garage sale next weekend. Several people donated a ton of items in a large range of categories, so there was a lot to go through. It started to rain almost immediately after we began so we were working…
You Oughta Be In Pictures
(This is an entirely non-medical post. I need to do something different for a little break. I’m sure medical entries/updates will resume probably right away, but in the meantime, enjoy one completely randomly off-topic.) There’s a movie that was released in 1977 called Slapshot. It’s kind of a cult favorite hockey movie where a minor…
Love’s Dad is Home!
Love just called. They just got home from the hospital. It’s been a long and worrying and trying time but he’s doing really good and they cleared him to come home today! Hard to imagine it was just Tuesday that he had open heart surgery and a quadruple bypass! Not to mention he had gallbladder…
General Update
It’s been a busy week already and we’re not even done yet. So here’s a brief update on a variety of topics. Love’s Dad Had his quadruple bypass yesterday. Went well. Today they had him up and walking. Can you believe it? Love says they said he’s a model patient. So far, everything is right…
Open Heart Surgery
Tuesday, Love’s dad goes in for open heart surgery. Last week he was doing better but they wanted to do a stress test to check his heart before deciding if he was ready to be discharged or not. See, apparently when his gallbladder ruptured, it put so much stress on his body that he had…
Hormones and Hospitals – Oh My!
Good news on Love’s Dad: he’s being moved from the CCU today into a less critical ward. He also ate his first solid food this morning. Yay! He’s still got a long way from being back to normal but these are all really good, positive signs he’s improving. As for me, yesterday I took my…
