So here’s a brief update on a variety of topics.

Love’s Dad
Had his quadruple bypass yesterday. Went well. Today they had him up and walking. Can you believe it? Love says they said he’s a model patient. So far, everything is right on schedule and he’s doing great. Hopefully, he can go home as soon as next week. It will be such a relief when he’s out of the hospital. This whole time has been scary and stressful.

My Mom
While I was down at the hospital yesterday, got a call from my sister. My poor Mom got horrible food poisoning Sunday and was sick for two days straight. She went to the ER yesterday because she couldn’t even keep down water. They gave her fluids and meds and sent her home. Talked to her today and she’s finally feeling better. Able to eat now without throwing up. Of course, she’s exhausted from the ordeal but I’m so relieved it wasn’t anything worse.

My Doctor’s Appointment Tomorrow
Tomorrow, I have my appointment to get my 3-month Lupron shot. Even though I’ve been on it a month already, I have to admit I’m still nervous about the three-month version. Just because there’s no turning back. Once it’s in your system, it’s in your system. But I know there is no other way to do it and I HAVE to get the tumors shrunk in order to have surgery, so I’ll be getting it despite some anxiety about it.

Lupron, Femhrt, Side Effects, Etc.
Speaking of Lupron it seems that the Femhrt (low dose of add-back hormone) is helping. My hot flashes have been better and I’ve had less overall body aches. I’m still really tired in general (very low stamina) and I’m still a bit overly emotional but that’s all to be expected. I definitely think the hormones were a good idea. Especially that they’re a very low dose of what I took for birth control pills, I think my body is doing ok on them. Now I don’t know if the shot tomorrow will result in a surge of side effects because it’s stronger or what, but the last two weeks have been manageable. (Of course I say that as I have my little USB powered fan blowing on my face because I’m hot right now! *lol*) Overall, I don’t feel great but I don’t feel horrible either.

Medical Bills, Assistance, Etc.
Got turned down for the HCRA to help with my $8,0008 hospital bill. I’m going to call the hospital financial department back and talk to them and see if there’s anything else they can do because it’s absurd I can’t get help with this. Especially since I have $0 income right now. Don’t know if there is anything else they can try or what but I’m hoping.

Still waiting to hear back on the PCIP. (Pre-existing Insurance Plan.) I applied two weeks ago and was hoping I could get it effective July 1st if possible to cover tomorrow’s appointment but since policies only start on the 1st of the month, I guess it will be August at this point. I called and verified they have everything in processing and I should hear back in another 10-14 days or so. If all goes well, I’d have it as of August 1st. ($237/month premium, $1,000 deductible then they cover 80% of all services.)

I got two more bills in yesterday. Brings my total to $9,702. (Not including the $600 to my OB/GYN) It’s just absurd at this point.
* $8,008 Hospital
* $1,220 ER Physician Group
* $248 Radiologist (Reading the Ultrasound and CT scan)
* $80 Lab (Pap)
* $146 Lab (Biopsy)

Etsy Shop, Donations, etc.
Got some new items listed lately on my etsy shop and we have items on the phoenixfunds etsy shop as well. (With more in the works.) I’m also listing some items on ebay. I still have the gofundme site set up and you can follow on facebook as well. Additionally, if someone wants to just make a straight donation, it can be done through this link: http://tiny.cc/hysterectomy. I’m still asking anyone who can pass on any of the links to please do so. Tweet ’em, put ’em on your facebook wall, post ’em in your blog, etc. The more the word gets out the better.

Alright I’ve got some jewelry photos to edit and post so off for now.

It’s been a busy week already and we’re not even done yet.
