I had my final ultrasound with my gyno, registered at the hospital, was given my surgical date and time, met with the anesthesiologist and even had my living will\/medical directive notarized.<\/p>\n<p>I was two days away from my surgery and these were the final hurdles to jump before I&#8217;d be truly ready to go.<\/p>\n<p>I remember what a busy day it was, running around from one location to the other. My Mom came with me to the hospital and we did all the registration steps together. I remember when I first got there, my blood pressure and pulse rate were through the roof. I was so nervous. After sitting and talking and going over things, I had calmed down a little and didn&#8217;t quite look like I was ready to explode anymore.<\/p>\n<p>It was so scary. And so surreal to be planning for the surgery in the first place. This was the first time I ever had surgery so every bit of the process was new to me.<\/p>\n<p>Just so weird to think where I was last year this time and where I am today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exactly one year ago today, I was doing my surgery pre-op.
