You know, things that you can’t wait for the weekend to do. Today’s things included putting gas in the car (tank was pretty low), returning a shirt to Target (impulse buy of Love’s that didn’t look good on him), getting some jump rings for a project (chain mail pendant I’ll show off soon) and getting cat food for the kitties (who were out completely.) Now the return could wait but it’s in the same plaza as the Micheal’s for jump rings so might as well get both done. Plus, hey, it was $20 I rather have in my pocket.

Getting kitty food takes me over by the very massive Goodwill. And led me to another needed errand that didn’t have to be done today but I had time: getting some more work pants. My work pant situation is very sad. One pair has a zipper that only goes halfway up so I wear long shirts with it to cover the fact. Another pair has a buttoning issue so it’s precariously held with a snap and requires similarly long shirts. A third pair need about 4″ of hemming meaning I can only wear them if I feel like wearing my 3″ boots and I don’t often feel like wearing them. All-in-all, my pant situation has been less than satisfactory. Which is where the thrift store came in.

Today I picked up three – oh yes, count ’em three – pairs of work pants. Total? $14.67. Score! I totally guessed on sizes and held them up to judge length but since two of them were “petite” I was hoping for the best fit-wise. I just didn’t feel like trying them on at the store since I still had so many other things to do. Well, all three fit. Double score! Washed them tonight and now I have three new pairs ready for tomorrow. Oh and they’re all in perfect shape. One is Talbot’s, another is New York and Company and the third is one I don’t remember.

It was funny too because there were a few other ladies in-and-around the Goodwill all with “designer” bags. I have a collection of Fossil bags that are gorgeous but which I buy at the outlet or online for dirt cheap. I get all the look with none of the full-price. But it amused me seeing other women with “expensive” bags thrifting too because honestly, it’s just stupid to pay retail for anything if you can get it for less. And my three pairs of brilliant and inexpensive “brand name” pants from today agree with me!

Wednesday, being my day off, is typically a day I run around and try to Get Things DoneTM.
