Briefly....
~ Drove to Gainesville Thursday for the interview.
~ Was the Guest of the Day at the hotel and was rewarded with a THREE ROOM suite (two king beds, three bathrooms, dining room table, two couches, the only balcony in the place) for just me!
~ Was at the interview for about three hours
~ They LOVE me and the job's mine if I want it
~ I like Gainesville, it's pretty and full of YOUNG people.
~ Bought a disposable camera and will get them developed ASAP so I can show off the sites of my adventure

Have a LOT to think about the next couple days...relocation...nervous, scary, but cool at the same time.+++
Oh yeah, I also had to share this since it's too ironically funny...I've had this odd rashy-bumpy thing on my forearms (from my wrist to elbow only) since I moved out of the apartment. Didn't think it was an allergy, didn't know what it was. Bugs me. Saw the MD, he didn't know. Sent me to a dermatologist. She took one look at it and very flatly stated, "Photoderma." Photo-whata?
Get this. It means I'm
allergic to the sunoh yes, that's sooooo ironic, isn't it? *laughs* Pale, sun-hating, burns-to-a-crisp me is actually ALLERGIC to the sun!!
*laughs and laughs and laughs*
Anyway, gotta run. It's getting late and I'm heading off home. (but hey, what's 38 miles when I drove over 400 the last two days?) Be well. Better, more detailed entry to follow hopefully tomorrow or so.
Take care!!

No time for a serious or in-depth post, just wanted to let everyone know that I am going tomorrow on a road trip. *giggles* The company I interviewed with here in this area ("this area" said loosely as it's 38 miles one-way away from my sisters!) has an opening in another part of the state and want me to come up to interview there!!
So...tomorrow, I am driving up to the Gainesville area, staying overnight (they're paying!) and then meeting with them Friday morning. At first, I wasn't sure I should bother - because how in the world can I afford to move to a whole different part of the state?? - but, I confirmed today they pay 100% for relocation!
Wow. I am super nervous now! I've never had anyone pay for me to come interview with them and I've only ever lived in one general area of Florida - I've never even
been to the Gainesville area!
Ack! Ack! Ack!
Nervous!

"Mission accomplished
Ray Bourque's long wait is over. Alex Tanguay scored twice and Joe Sakic added a goal as the Colorado Avalanche beat the New Jersey Devils, 3-1, in Game 7 to capture the Stanley Cup, successfully concluding a 22-season championship quest for Bourque...."

I can’t tell you what I’m thinking now…I don’t know for sure that I’m thinking about much. End of the second period, a mere twenty minutes to go. It’s like that moment where you’re underwater, looking around, waiting to see how much longer you can hold your breath. Your mind reflects back, all the while your nerves are on edge in the moment. A tremble buzzes through your body as you feel the burn start in your chest. Can you do it? Can you make it just that little bit further?
I’m watching history in action. It’s not just some game, it’s the life of one man. It’s the lives of a team. It’s the lives of millions of fans who all sit, waiting as they hold their breath.
You’re almost afraid to hope. You know they’re up by two and yet, you wonder if by hoping too hard, you’ll lose sight of it.
The tension breaks as they take the ice again….feeling the burn, needing to breath, but unable to do anything but hold on just a moment longer.
And the final countdown begins…
-------------------
third period begins -------------------
Then when you finally breath, it’s not a mere breath. It comes with a scream. It comes with eyes streaming tears, with heart pounding in your chest, with the full weight of completion of a dream.
.….Ray Bourque skates the Cup.…..
It’s a beautiful vision. Living history in action. The one amazing story that will sing through the ages to come. Remembered, cherished, and so very well earned.
Thank you Avalanche. Thank you Bourque. Thank you for this piece of wonder. No one deserves it more. And I am honored to have watched it happen.
