Currently, M has a:
headacheShe is:
StressedArg. So it's one of
those days today. Boss is out of town (yesterday and today) and of course, rather then a nice, easy couple days, it's been psycho hell. Yesterday one of the installers van's broke down on the side of a bridge. So it was all
how do we get it towed/how do we pay for it/theres no money in petty cash/boss is out of town/do we have a place to get it fixed/this sucks kinda thing. We sorta kinda figured it all out.
Then today, the van's still at the place we towed it and they're all like
yeah, fuel pump's bad/it's like $750 for part and labor/there's no other option kinda thing. And of course, then it's
calling my boss' cell to relay the info to calling the place back to get the deatails to calling the local dealership to compare the pricing to calling the place back to arrange the authorization and figuring out how we can pay $750 when we didn't even have the money for the towOk, so if that's not enough, it's now
Hey, another installer's on a customer site and shatteres their sliding glass door and um, who can we call to get it done, call the boss to get a contact who tells you to call the yellow pages and price match and call around and get the info on the door to get the quotes and then call the boss back to get the ok and to arrange the payment and then when the glass company calls for directions for how to get there have to run around to get the files - TWICE - because the glass guy doesn't know where it is or how to call them or what their address is or anything but I've never been there so how do I know where it is and would you just please call them directly and get directions please??Then, it's hey we're really busy today so let's get lunch ordered in which is like
ok, so who wants what and call in the order and then it's like talk SLOWER, you're giving the order too fast but we're not, we're wasting time and the phones are being transfered to our T-1 today so we've only got the one little 4-line single phone that's got all the calls ringing and there's another call coming in and then we can't answer it 'cause the lady's got us on hold and we're like HURRY UP and then finally we're off but now it's screaming across the whole building to tell someone there's a call and have them run to one of the only two working phones (up front and at my desk) and taking messages and trying to explain to people as quickly as possible how you need to get them off the phone 'cause the phones are being upgraded now and it's not like normal and we can't be on all these lines at once like normal so please just let me get your name and number and we'll get back with you, but they don't understand that so they keep talking and keep calling back asking if they can talk to the person yet but NO you can't 'cause when you can, they'll call you like I told you the first two times.
And the T-1's not even cut over yet. That's at 2pm. For now, it's just the system upgrade to allow the T-1 and sheesh, it's been crazy and hectic I have so much yet to do. (let's not even get into the
how do I do a mail merge again in word this morning, which I did amongst all this chaos.)
ARG.
So, now I'm desperatly trying to scarf my food, not have my head explode from this headache and still keep things running around here. WHAT A DAY! (and you're telling me tomorrow's NOT saturday? Ugh. I need a vaaction!)
