We went for a drive today to see an exhibit. The
here is new york - a democracy of photos collection is in Tampa from September 4th - October 8th. If you don't know what this is, it's basically a collection of thousands of photos taken by the people of new york and those there, capturing the scope of 9/11. More then that, it's the personal stories through images of the people who were there and it began with one person posting pictures they took outside their store and people adding to it. Part of the collection came to Tampa and I had wanted to see it.
click for two additional images of the exhibit I took.It was, without a doubt, a painfully
real thing to see. I could feel myself tearing up many times as we walked through the 300 photos in the Tampa exhibit. Some of those pictures were so...raw it was almost physically painful to view. I'm glad though I got a chance to see them.
There is another larger photo of the exibit in Tampa
here. My three favorite images are numbers 0785, 0367, and 0218 and can be viewed in full (and purchased)
here. More information on the Tampa exibit can be found
here.
Just...*breaths* It was a very powerful display.
