Man...I'm still bored.
So I did my registration (*cough a month late cough*) at the end of June and instead of just a new 2004 sticker, I got a whole new plate. In Florida, you get a new plate once every 5 years. Well, it's not been five years that I've had the car - only four. So I totally wasn't expecting to get a damned
plate. The site didn't say anything about it when I did the registrations and didn't offer me the chance to pick a
specialty one or anything. Then, to add insult to injury, they sent the damned wrong county! (The plates list the county on the bottom in Florida and I got the wrong one, even though I picked the right one from the list when I did the registration online and despite my address containing the very obvious city name that isn't in the county that the plate lists!) Idiots. So, after my mom stopped in and asked them about it -
she lives in the county they sent - I can apparently take it in and pay the difference towards the plate I
do want and now all I need is to figure out which one I like best.
My Love and I walked around the complex parking lot last night - as I was very bored and it was something to do at midnight - to look at the plates that people had. We both like the
Protect Florida Panthers plate, the
Protect Florida Whales plate (I didn't even know whales meandered this far south personally *shrugs* but it's a cool plate) and the
NHL: Lightning plate 'cause hockey rules. (Though I think the plate itself is really kinda boring) I also happen to really like the
Sea Turtle plate, but he does not at all. So...I need to figure out which one to get because dammit, I hate the fact it's got the wrong county on it now. Hell, I hate the fact it has a county listed at all - the one I got from the dealer when I bought it just said "Sunshine State" at the bottom instead. Why in the world they think we want to advertise what county we live in (all the better for stalkers, sheesh!) is beyond me.
We went over to Rand's house tonight to help him move in some more of his stuff. It's coming along. Though, there's no tv (at all; there physically isn't one there) or even a computer so when the guys ran over to his mom's house to pick up some stuff, it was a lot of fun sitting there with nothing to do! *lol* Actually, I had lent him my old cd player/tape player/radio boombox thingy and some of my cd's were in there and I ended up listening to that. Wasn't so bad. Just odd when there literally isn't a television in the house. :)
It's been a slow day on the net and I've been bored. Doesn't help that last night when I tried to make postcards, I was having an utterly shitty art day and I couldn't manage to get anything to look even half-way decent. Ugh. So frustrating. Then the phone rang a million times today - starting at 8:44am - and this is the second day in a row that I've been stuck waking up over and over all morning long. Leaves me with a headache and a slight queasy/dizzy feeling all day. No one's been posting much on the message boards I frequent, or the blogs I read and no one's been around on YIM even (though that's a small list because I hate being overwhelmed with people when I just want to talk to one here and there). In short, another really boring day.
Blah. So...yeah. Nothing particularly interesting to write about and I could keep bitching but even I don't feel like dealing with it, so I can't imagine why anyone would want to read it. I need more hobbies or just more to do. I'm feeling annoying sucky at everything and really useless. Oh well. I'm going to stop here before I get even more annoyed.
