*grumbles and sighs*
So, Monday night the a/c starts pumping out warm air and smelling like it does when the heat comes on. I turn it off, we look - thinking it's icing over or something - and I call maintence. By the time they call back (it was afterhours), it's blowing cool/cold air again so we tell them to just come by the next day and confirm everything is alright.
Yesterday the guy shows up, takes the panel off, looks at it and says it's fine. I ask him why it was blowing hot air and he guesses that the thermostat got switched (malfunction) and that it should be ok now.
Tonight, about an hour ago now, we hear a THUD. The panel from the a/c came off. It also hit the pipe to the water heater on the way down. Now there's water coming out in a steady amount through the now-bent pipe. I call the afterhours number again. Leave my name and number. Wait. The guy calls back. Says he's not anywhere near the complex. Has us walk over to the other building where the maintence manager lives. He's not there. Call the first guy back. He's on his way but he suspects it'll be at least 35-45 minutes before he can get here. In the meantime, water coming out of the pipe. Also in the meantime, I turned the a/c off. The a/c is right about where the water is coming out and the panel is off. So it's electricity, fans, wires and water. Not a good combination. I'm a little opposed to setting the apartment on fire. Love's pissed at the precaution and wants to turn it back on, but I just think it's better safe (and warm) then sorry (and on fire).
So....we're back to *grumble* and *sigh* There goes the "nice quite evening" concept right out the window.
