There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time
then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours
a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a
day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their
opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into
their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.
To these people I say grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the web is
a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I
do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or
whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's
really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty
site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine. That
means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm
bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else.
Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read
them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live
and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care.
This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or
fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and
express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't,
it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.
*gets off soapbox*

Strike That. Reverse It.
TODAY will be shopping. TOMORROW will be Disney. Gives us more time to get our shopping done today and more time in Disney tomorrow. We wouldn't have been able to leave until around 9:30am or so which would have gotten us at the park around 11:30am. That's kinda a late start. Plus, you know, stores of course close early on Christmas Eve so we'd be pressed for shopping time tomorrow. And it's madness. Now we'll enjoy Christmas Eve at Disney and can relax a little more. So...slight change of plans but I think it'll work out for the best.

So Far Behind!
There's so much I've been meaning to get around to posting. Tree pics, cookie pics, etc. but bah! I just haven't done it. So this is quick-and-dirty, light on the text and heavy on the picture summary post instead. All photo galleries can, as always, be found here. Ok, first off...the tree! Two Nice, Large Tree Photos here! It's so pretty and so damned hard to photograph! Second....ornaments! Just some nice shots of some of the ornaments I love my ornaments. Some of them are 50-60 years old. Others are more fun and still others are Disney! Third up...cookies! These are my favorites. My mom called them "tea biscuits" and they use this yummy pie filling you can't get here in Florida. This is one of the two batches of sugar cookies I made. Yum and more yum! I had so much fun decorating these with colored sugar. I made a ton on Monday with my mom and then more again last night. I'll take some with me this weekend to the respective family gatherings. Last night was Solstice and so I stayed up and held vigil until dawn. Man that's hard. (Especially when it came at 7:20am!) Needless to say I slept in today. Tomorrow we're using the last day of our passes and enjoying the magic of Disney at Christmas. We didn't get to go to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party like we did last year, but this will still be a lot of fun. It's just so perfect to see the lights, the fireworks and everything. Gets you in the holiday mood. Saturday we have to do ALL of our shopping. Nothing like the last minute, but what can you do? Payroll schedules don't always land where you want them to be. Sunday we have an early morning at Love's Aunt's house and then an afternoon at my mom's. Both are in completly opposite directions from each other (of course) so a lot of driving to do. So if I don't get around to posting for a few days, well...there you go. It's just hectic and busy this time of year. Happy Holidays to everyone and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Solstice Blessings
Because my Adobe somehow unregistered itself and because it meant I did not have access to my Image Ready for making image maps, I've gone ahead and re-used a modified version of last year's Winter theme. I really liked it, so I'm breaking my rule and using one a second time. Today, December 21st, is the official start of Winter. I always try to ensure I get my new seasonal change up at that time, and so here it is. Wednesday into Thursday I will be observing my annual Solstice ritual of staying up through the night, holding vigil for the Light's return. Tomorrow will, therefore, be a long day. Anyway, here's the revised if not entirely new Winter layout. I've got cookies to discuss from Monday but I'll do that tomorrow (technically later today since it's officially Wednesday already.) Happy Winter everyone and Solstice/Yule Blessings to my fellow Pagan friends.

Holiday Wreaths
Last year I made my first wreaths for myself, my mom and Love's mom. I used branches left over from the tree cuttings and got some accents and went to town. They were well received. So this year of course, I wanted to make a new one for my door. Then my friend Rand wanted me to make one for his door. And since I had enough materials left over, I made one for my mom also and I'll surprise her with it tomorrow. (Cookie day! We're making cookies!) Love says they're really great. And I think this year I did so much better then last year's. He says next year I should try to sell some. I don't know if there's a lot of market for that kind of thing but I definitely think they're pretty darn good. (If I do say so myself.) So anyway, I put the three up on a page so you can see them. This one is mine hanging on my door, but click here to see larger images of all three I've made so far this year. They're unfortuantely hard to photograph. I bet if I used more natural light you could see them better but, I ended up taking all three at night. Heh. The fraser fir also has a lot of reflective properties to it so it makes a mess of the flash. Oh well, still, I think you get the idea. I still need to get some photos of our tree. It's so pretty. I'll work on that later and post some images of that too. All photos are always listed on the photo page so you can easily find groups of images over the last few years. Tomorrow, like I said, my mom's coming over and we're making cookies. My favorite - the "tea biscuit" ones - are totally thanks to Rachel who found the filling for me and her husband for playing courier and delivering them. (Unfortunately, the filling is not sold here anywhere. Normally my Nanny goes up north and gets some during the summer. This year she didn't go up north. So dear Rachel was kind enough to scout Chicago for me and as luck would have it, her husband had a business trip here and brought them with him. It's thanks to them I can make my cookies again this year!) We're also going to make some standard sugar cookies. It should be fun. Alright, out for now.
