There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time
then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours
a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a
day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their
opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into
their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.
To these people I say grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the web is
a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I
do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or
whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's
really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty
site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine. That
means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm
bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else.
Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read
them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live
and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care.
This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or
fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and
express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't,
it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.
*gets off soapbox*

Extremely Belated Weekend Review and Recap
Sunday (July 30th) was my friend Rand's birthday but he had plans with his family that day. So on Saturday, we went over to Lowry Park Zoo. It was waaaaay too damned hot to be there (no a/c anywhere and no shade to be found) so we ended up only staying for a couple hours. But I did get some photos and I finally have gotten around to formatting and uploading. You can find the three pages here. As always, you can also find all of my photos organized by year on my photo gallery page. We hit Smokey Bones for dinner and afterwards, had a cake for him and a present of course. Not a bad day overall, though we all agreed next time, not to do an outside activity in July. Sunday, Love and I just lazed and did pretty much nothing. I don't mind lazy Sundays though, especially when I was getting over the week-long cold of doom. (Saturday, I was coughing up my own lungs as we walked but it helped since it broke up the remaining crap that had lodged there.) Yesterday (Monday) I was feeling better until around 4:30pm when my stomach decided to absolutely go all to hell. I spent all of yesterday being sick no matter what I took to try to make it calm down. I have no clue what prompted it and I was up until around 2am before I could get enough of a break from being ill to get some rest. Today I exchanged a broken door from a console table my friend Rand bought at Bombay. I of course, have plenty of free time in the afternoons, where he - like most people - don't due to work. While I was there, I snagged another free pair of panties from Victoria's Secret. (For those who don't know, about a dozen mags this month have freebie coupons in them - Cosmo, Allure, Maire Claire, Shape, Self, er..and a few others I can't remember. They're also mailing coupons to some people.) I think this brings the tally to like five pairs. At $7.50/each, I'm psyched. Nothing beats free stuff! So of course in the news, I keep hearing about the record heatwave going on throughout most of the country. And it's funny to me since that's our normal kind of summer weather here in Florida. Mid-90's every day, more humid then a sauna, and feels-like temps near or over 100F. Toss in though our stronger sun - our UV index tends to be around 11+ every day where they advise you literally to stay indoors because you can burn in a matter of minutes - and this is our weather from about April through October. It's so odd to see other places so utterly cripled by the heat. And it makes me hope in some petty way, people can understand the challenges of living with Florida summers since now they can relate a little. (So when I comment that the a/c in our car has broken again, perhaps it sinks in a little more just how miserable that makes life.) I do feel bad that everyone is having such a hard time of it though. I often say I don't wish our hellish summers on anyone. In other weather news, Tropical Storm Chris is looming out there. So that's something to keep an eye on. It's a sturdy little storm at the moment and current projections do put it at a hurricane by this weekend, though it's best-guess path estimates currently call for it to stay south of Florida. You can't ever be sure about things like that though - even a matter of hours before it hits it can shift. No major threat at the moment, but as the hurricane season progresses, one can never be lax about these things. Those of you enduring the heatwave, just be glad that hurricanes aren't part of the fun for you as well. Well that's the sum for now I guess.
