There are people on the net that
have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other
people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking
about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day
talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for
their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone
to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw
a temper tantrum.
To these people I say
grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the
web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am,
or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my
hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else.
It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and
nasty site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine.
That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like
it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go
somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too
fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone
forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't like me,
cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal is NOT for
you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame or anything
stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and express
myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't, it
doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about
it.
*gets off soapbox*

DAMMIT! MSG I Hate You! I just found out that Chik-fil-A used fucking monosodium glutamate in all it's chicken products.
Chick-fil-Aź Chicken Sandwich Ingredients: 100% natural whole breast filet, seasoning (salt, monosodium glutamate, sugar, spices, paprika), seasoned coater (enriched bleached flour [bleached flour malted barley flour, niacin, iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid], sugar, salt, monosodium glutamate, nonfat milk, leavening [baking soda, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate], spice, soybean oil, color [paprika]), milk wash (water, whole powdered egg and nonfat milk solids), peanut oil (fully refined peanut oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness and dimethylpolysiloxane an anti-foaming agent added), pickles (cucumbers, water, vinegar, salt, contains less than 1% of the following: calcium chloride, alum, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate [preservatives], natural flavors, polysorbate 80, Yellow #5, blue 1), butter-flavored vegetable oil (soybean oil, palm kernel oil, soy lecithin, natural and artificial flavor, TBHQ and citric acid added as preservatives, and artificial color).
DAMMIT! Why does everyone have to use this shit?? It's TOXIC. There are concrete studies done as far back as the 1950's through the 1970's that conclusively show MSG causes brain lesions as well as selectively kills brain cells. It is an absolute known migraine trigger and is even linked to neurological damage such as Alzheimer's disease. MSG is not found naturally in food or in the human body. MSG is not identical to free glutamic acid that has not been manufactured. The glutamic acid found naturally in human beings and other higher organisms (before food fed to plants, animals, and humans became loaded with MSG) is L-glutamic acid, only. MSG is an addictive substance and literally millions of people encounter MSG related adverse reaction on a daily basis.
I work VERY hard to avoid MSG in my diet. But it's hard because there's no standards for labeling. It gets hidden under things like "seasoning" or "natural flavors." It's also hidden under "hydrolyzed soy protein" and related vague terms. It's entirely up to the food manufacturer to disclose the MSG and there's a bunch of bullshit loopholes in which they don't have to list it. It's one of the reasons I'm so happy that organic items are making strides in mainstream food offerings - it means I have more food choices then I used to. (Because it is in everything from snacks, to soups, to seasoning, to side dishes, boxed pastas and rices and more.) Now there's one more damned thing I have to add to the list of inedible food.
I wrote them a letter through the contact form. I mentioned it's hard to justify the use of MSG when their entire sales-pitch is centered on the use of 100% natural white meat chicken. Toxic food additives and natural just don't go together very well.
So this is a warning for everyone else. Chik-fil-A contains MSG. You should contact them as well, explaining the displeasure of this usage, and informing them you will boycott their products until this dangerous chemical is removed from their food.
