There are people on the net that
have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty to other
people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a day talking
about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a day
talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for
their opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone
to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw
a temper tantrum.
To these people I say
grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the
web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am,
or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my
hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else.
It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and
nasty site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine.
That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like
it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go
somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too
fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line, someone
forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't like me,
cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal is NOT for
you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame or anything
stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and express
myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't, it
doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about
it.
*gets off soapbox*

Holiday Wishlist Meme Step One - Make a post to your LJ with a list of ten wishes.
Step Two - If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached.
My Wishlist 1. I know it's unreasonable, but I need a car. Love and I have only one. It's 11 years old and was in bad shape about three years ago. At this point, it has no a/c, the windows don't roll down, it's leaking gas and we've had to replace the head gasket twice. It's well past it's last legs. The car situation is such that I have no way to get to a part-time job and we literally fear every single day that it's going to die. We haven't been able to get a loan and everytime we've saved up to buy an A-to-B car, we've had to spend it on fixing the car to keep it running. We just can't save up enough.
2. Anything from my amazon wishlist. I don't mind used items in decent quality. I'm a big believer that many things in life can be enjoyed by more then one person and shared.
3. To have a good season on PhoenixFire Designs. I make custom jewelry and other items and right now, it's my only source of income. I don't want hand-outs, I want to sell my work so I've earned it and someone has gotten something else in return. I make lovely items and I'm happy to work with anyone on customizing pieces either for themselves or for gifts. Even spreading my link is appreciated. I'd just like to earn a little money for the holidays.
4. Funds to put towards getting new glasses. Mine have been nicked since June. I haven't fixed them because I need to update my prescription anyway. It's been about three years and they're just not strong enough any more. It's another case of being unable to save up enough. Every time I get anything saved, something happens. You know how it goes.
5. Anything Disney. I'm a big fan. I collect Disney pins, I have a bunch of Disney dvd's, I enjoy Walt Disney World, and generally just love being a kid and having a total escape from the mundane that it offers. (This includes Pixar as well!)
6. Craft supplies, most notably anything I can use for beading. Swarovski crystal, glass beads, gemstone beads, gemstone chips, spacers, metallic beads, memory wire, stringing material - you name it, I love it. You can never have enough. New bead supplies are always a giddy moment.
7. Gift certificates. For just about anywhere. Target, Best Buy, any (national) bookstore, restaurants, shops online, shops in the mall, coconutbeautyhut.com, candles, candy, crafts, beauty supply stores, makeup, spa/salon/massage services - whatever. I don't mind if you've used part of it and have $10 left on it. I know sometimes people give you ones for places you might not like or need or use and they sit and collect dust in your wallet.
8. Anything handmade. Being crafty myself, I love handmade items. Knitted? Cool. Beaded? Cool. Paper goods? Cool. Artwork? Cool. Woodwork? Cool. Photography? Cool. I truly love things people made with their hands and skill. (And artwork can most certainly be digital too. I'd love to see something custom made for me, or an icon made for me, or even someone doing art or manipulation to my photo, or my photography or anything like that.)
9. Pamper bath items that smell like fruit or food. I can't do things that are floral or musky. At all. Those kinds of scents give me migraines. So I love finding a green apple body wash, or a melon perfume oil. Things that smell like you can eat them are awesome. (Vanilla, caramel, chocolate, watermelon, grape, apple, strawberry, cherry, apricot, pineapple, root beer, angel food cake - you name it.)
10. Holiday cards. Bonus if they have penguins on them, or owls, or winter scenes and extra bonus if they are Yule/Solstice themed. I absolutely love mail. I check my mailbox every day because I just love getting mail. It's like a present.
