There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time
then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours
a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a
day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their
opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into
their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.
To these people I say grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the web is
a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I
do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or
whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's
really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty
site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine. That
means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm
bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else.
Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read
them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live
and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care.
This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or
fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and
express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't,
it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

Terrible Storm
I'm going to try to make this brief because our power continues to brown out and flicker off momentarily. We're in the midst of a terrible thunderstorm. Squall after squall has been moving in off of the Gulf and pounding the Tampa Bay Area with as much as 1.5 feet of rain so far. This is on par with hurricane rainfall and nowhere near what we normally receive. Some areas will easily see 2 feet before it's done. A Bath and Body Works in St. Pete lost it's roof to utter collapse earlier this morning only after a half foot or so of water. Roads are flooded everywhere and there is constant lightning. The thunder is so loud, it's been shaking the entire building for hours now. It feels like what I imagine an earthquake to feel like. Rumbling the entire structure and within your chest. Our rain is normally a short burst thing. Ten or fifteen minutes followed by sunshine. Not so today. It'll easily make an all-time record rainfall for today's date. Love was stuck in the storm this morning, making his 15 minute drive in almost an hour. Looking out my window, the parking lot is full of water and some of the grassy areas between the buildings now have small ponds where there were none before. I can't describe the force of the thunder and lightning today. Since around 7:30am, it's just been relentless. It really feels like it's hurricane season, not February! Anyway, there's a lot of flooding and flood-related damage around here today. I'm sure tomorrow will bring news of sinkholes and damage. Poor Love still has to get home in all of this and they're saying it'll be another few hours at least before we even see a pause in the storm. So deluge in the Tampa Bay Area. Anyone near or coming to this area, wait until tomorrow if possible. If you have to go out, take extreme caution. They are strongly advising people not to travel unless absolutely necessary. Just stay home. Crazy, crazy storm.

Bad Week for Migraines
After going the last few months with mild cycle-inspired migraines, this month's killing me. I've had bad migraines throughout the week and a crippling one last night. I know statistically I can't win them all (even with my beloved feverfew) and I'm sure that the antibiotic in my system probably helped throw balances out of whack, but jeez. Ugh. Migraines = bad. Not much going on since I haven't really had any cohesive thought yesterday. Worked on a few PhoenixFire Orders and got a few email inquiries about custom orders (which I'm always happy to do!) so that's good. I'm always glad to see Thunderbird's "1 new messages for PhoenixFire" notification. Today and tomrorow and then I'm done with the damned horsepill antibiotics. Jeez. I can't wait. These things are so hard to swallow. Monday sees me at the dentist to get the permanent crown put on the root canal tooth. Then that tooth will officially be done! After that, I need to do my other three fillings - it's been almost a year since we fist found out I needed to have all this done, isn't that awful? - so I'll try to get those scheduled for this month too. I have to pay the remaining debt for the root canal proceedure ($385) but I'm going to try to parcel that off in pieces since I don't have that large of a chunk of course. All told, by the time it's all done, I'll have spent around $3,000 for the cracked tooth's crown, four fillings, the root canal and crown. Jeez. That's a fuckton of money. Whoops! Forgot I was in the middle of typing this up. Started it like a half an hour ago then got distracted by something else. Oh well. Guess that means I'm done. Heh.

Out On the Town
Ok, Animal Crossing: Wild World for the DS is so much fun. Being able to visit other people's towns through WiFi connection is awesome. What a fun feature to add to the whole experience of the game. Of course, it works perfect until it doesn't. I've gone to a few towns now and had people come to mine but I keep having problems getting to this one particular person's town. He can't get to mine at all. Irritating. Especially since it works so well with all other towns I've tried to visit. I just keep saying, "try again" and eventually (sometimes like ten tries later) it'll work. With everyone else? First try. Oh well. Still a great game and town visiting is still a ton of fun.

This And That
Last night I stayed up forever trying to make and pack up three penguin orders that had come in the week before. I was very delayed on getting them due to being sick last week. I wanted to make sure they got out as soon as possible. I also realized that I was taking around two hours of prep, sculpt, cure and packing time for a penguin and that I really didn't want to do it for $10 anymore. It's just way more work then that. I thought I might stop selling them. Love suggested I just raise the price. That way, if someone buys one, great, it'll be worth it and if they don't, no big loss. Did so last night and sure enough, got an order in today at the new rate. Color me plesantly surprised! Things are going well on the infection front. We're past the pain/pressure part which is a relief. Of course my stomach is in hell from the antibiotics but, not much I can do about that. One more pill today and then four days after that left. Ugh. My stomach hates me on the best of days. Toss in antibiotic that kills even the good bacteria (and yes, there are good bacteria that aide in digestion) my system works hard to keep running at bare minimum and well...stomach from Hell. Allergins are apparently really high today. I guess it started last night though because I kept coughing and wheezing and really just couldn't breathe. I laid down - around 4am by the time I was done with my orders - and just felt like I wasn't getting enough air. Took some Benedryl and it zonked me. I was pretty much dead to the world until around 1pm. Jeez. I tell you, the stuff kicks me in the butt. "May cause drowsiness" is like "May cause coma" for me! Problem is of course that it leaves me groggy, so I'm still kinda out of it and want to take a nap. Heh. Thankfully, my allergies only really annoy me a few days here and there throughout the year. (In Florida, we don't have a set allergy season, and you have issues year-round due to our warm climate.) I normally take some generic Claritin which works great, but it wires me so I didn't want to take it last night or I wouldn't have been able to sleep. Hence the Benedryl. *hums* I'm so mad because there's a bed-in-a-bag set that I wanted well over a year ago on amazon now that's gotten really cheap. Like half what it used to be. But even at like $125, I don't have that much cash. Which sucks, because it's an awesome deal. Eight pieces including a beautiful comforter, sheet set, shams, etc. Grr. It was almost $300 when I first saw it. My comforter is so old and ratty and man, am I sick of it. I'd love just once to have a real, adult, grown-up bed set. I don't have a single piece of matching furnature in my entire home, I still use this ugly-ass glossy brown dresser that I has as a kid back in PA, and we have this ugly wrought-iron headboard that isn't even screwed into the bed frame. Is it so much to covet something pretty and grown up? Oh well. So....that's about it for the moment. A reminder that it's not too late to get a lovely piece of jewelry from PhoenixFire Designs in time for Valentine's Day. TTFN.
