There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time
then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours
a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a
day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their
opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into
their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.
To these people I say grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the web is
a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I
do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or
whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's
really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty
site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine. That
means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm
bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else.
Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read
them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live
and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care.
This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or
fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and
express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't,
it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

Penguin Cam
*squeeee!* I lurrrve me some penguins. They're just so damned cute!!! So my friend Rand sent me a link to a live Penguin Cam and I had to share: http://www.mbayaq.org/efc/efc_splash/splash_cam.asp They waddle up and shake their little butts. So cute!! This is definitely a cute watch. (There's also other cam views if you - *gasp shock horror* - don't want to watch the penguins. But you should. 'Cause they're freakin' cute.)

Cold Continues
First off, thank you to everyone for your kind words yesterday. They were appreciated. My mom is going through a tough time right now and your warm thoughts truly help. Secondly, my cold continues. I'm so unbelievably miserable I don't think I have words to encompass it. Yesterday my nose ran, no, gushed all day to the point I used an entire box of tissues. Do you know how sore that not only makes your nose, but your neck and head? Ow. Restless sleep last night - tossing and turning - resulted in more time awake then time asleep. This morning I woke up dizzy and nauseous. On top of everything else, my stomach is in agony and I've been having gastrointestinal "fun" as well. I'm coughing, I've got a headache and I just feel awful. I mean truly awful. I've tried napping through the afternoon because it seems seeing, watching tv, reading or anything related makes my head and my dizziness worse. It's been sporadic though. Some napping and a lot of uncomfortable tossing and turning and when-did-my-bed-turn-into-bricks? feelings. Being sick sucks. Especially when it's the kind of sick you wish you could be put into a comma until it was over so you didn't have to deal with just how bad you actually feel.

R.I.P. - Socrates
In sad, sad news, my mom had to put her beloved cat, Socrates to sleep yesterday. After getting the diagnosis of cancer a little over two weeks ago, he went downhill within about two days and she let him go yesterday. My mom had a very special bond with Soc and she's in a great deal of pain at not only his passing, but how quickly it happened. I just saw her briefly now on her way to a doctor's appointment and she's just devestated. I worry about her health and how this pain and tragedy is going to make things worse. (For those who don't know, my mom is disabled with mixed connective tissue disorder and her health is very fragile to start with.) I know several of you understand the kind of deep bond we can form with our animal companions and how they become family; they become part of us. Soc was very special to my mother and I share in her grief and her loss. This kind of hurt is so raw and so sharp, it's a physical blow. Having gone through this kind of loss with Kush, I know how deep it cuts. Any warm thoughts, energy, prayers or related are greatly appreciated for her in this time of terrible mourning.

It's Official
Two days of the sore throat has officially turned into a cold. Sneezing, stuffed head and nose, oh-so-sexy nasal drip, groggy, clogged up ears, scratchy throat, low-grade fever - the works. Oh yeah and I'm pretty sure a Mac truck came along and ran me over at some point this evening. Ugh. Dammit. Colds suck. I'm going to bed.
For Sale - Little Black Dress Fragrance Set
Since the messanger bag sale went so well, I thought I'd offer up something else needing a new home. I got this set as a gift maybe a year or two ago. It's just been sitting in my linen closet that whole time. Problem is that I'm extremely scent-sensitive and I can't wear perfumes. UNUSED Ultra Color Rich Renewable Lipstick, UNUSED Body Lotion, and maybe two-times sprayed Eau De Parfum Spray (See larger photo HERE) The scent is called "Little Black Dress." It has been discontinued. It was made for Avon. From what I gather, the 50ml/1.7 fl oz. parfume originally retailed for something in the $30/bottle range. This was a gift set including the eau de parfum, the ultra color rich renewable lipstick (3.6g / 13oz), and a 100ml / 3.4 fl oz body lotion. The lipstick - "Classic Red (N)" - says: Rich, moisturizing color renews itself throughout the day for that 'just applied' look. Provides a luxurious satin finish. The Body lotion says: Wrap yourself in this moisturizing body lotion to soften and caress your skin. Lush notes of apricot blossom and honeysuckle mingle over a classic floral heart of moonflower, gardenia and ylang-ylang. With Little Black Dress, you're always in style. I do not know if the lipstick and/or body lotion were sold seperately or available in gift pack only. The parfum has been sprayed maybe twice. I don't have the original box for it. The gold along the top has worn a little from age but it's otherwise perfect. The lipstick has litterally never been worn. At all. It does has it's original box though the top flap is bent from opening it up once to look at the color and photograph it. The body lotion is brand new and has never been used. The parfum is selling on ebay for $20-25 a bottle. I thought maybe offering all three for $25 sounded fair. (With a few bucks in shipping pending on where it's going to.) I can take paypal or I'm happy to get a check/money order if you rather. It's a really nice set. Let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks!

Leather Messanger Bag
I have an absolutely goregous leather bag for sale. It's gently used. Love had it as his portfolio bag but it could also be used for any sized laptop as well. It's an aged brown leather with a cool celtic raised embossed design. It's about 18" wide and about 14" tall. Zipper compartment on the front flap. Then it's closed with two snaps. Open it up and there's a large pouch on the inside plus the main center pouch. There's also a zipper compartment inside the main section as well as holders for a cell phone/ipod, pens and cards/business cards. The back also has another pouch (closed with velcro) for more storage. Nice, solid stitching, and an adjustable reinforced leather strap. (See larger, detail images HERE) It's all genuine leather. We bought it last year from Wilson's Leather. The original retail was around $200. I'd like to get maybe $50 for it? Which is an awesome deal. It'd be great for college since there's room for books and laptop and related. It can also hold a 16" long x 12" art portfolio book and 11x14 art pads because that's what he used it for. This bag is sturdy and the aged brown leather is really nice. It's totally unisex also. It's got years of use in it and I think it's a really good deal. (Seeing how expensive these kinds of bags are brand new!) Please let me know if you're interested and we can work out payment (I can get paypal or you can send a money order if you don't have paypal) and figure out shipping. I can probably send it in a flat-rate priority box within the US ($8.10 I believe) or we can arrange a slower, ground ship if you prefer. Thanks. UPDATE 4:15pm The bag is currently on hold. If for whatever reason, the sale falls through, I'll offer it up again, but as of right now, it's on hold. Thanks for the amazingly quick response!!
Painful Morning
Woke up with my throat still sore. I was hoping it would have been gone by today. Bigger issue is my head is totally miserable. It's pulsing badly. I can't move without it pounding my pulse in my head, making my vision swim. My neck has decided to get in on the act and tighten up badly as well. Getting the visual disruptions that I normally get before a migraine (afterimages, blurs, bright spots, etc.) and I'm running a fever. I feel like absolute ass. Gods, my head hurts.
In Brief
Didn't do anything special this weekend. Ran some errands, that sort of thing. Stocked up on some things we needed since Love got paid. (You know, shampoo, cat food that sort of thing.) Bought myself a new shade of nail polish. Love mocked me since I've been buying it more regularly these days. I have maybe nine or so shades total. Purchased over the last year. I don't think that's worth giving me a hard time about it. (Ok, not really a hard time, just a "jeez...another bottle?" Well yeah. It does come in different colors you know.) Woke up today (er, well, Sunday since I'm posting this after midnight) with a sore throat. It's getting worse as the day goes on. Which sucks. First off, sore throats hurt. Secondly, I normally get them as the first sign of a cold. Got one about a month back but it never resolved into a cold (thankfully) but did bring me into an awful pain/fatigue cycle. So even though I escaped the cold, it totally wore me out. Now I've got another damned sore throat and I'm really unhappy about it. It's so uncomfortable and it just feels worse as the day has gone on. In entirely different news, I got the Coconut Hut newsletter and she announced perfume samples now. Yeah! My friend Dawna was just lamenting that she doesn't offer them which makes it hard since she (and I) don't have $15 to try on a bottle of an unknown scent. Well, we weren't the only ones who thought so I guess. She's now offering them! And not those tiny sniffer sizes either. They're a 5/8 dram. (The others are apparently 1/16th dram.) I didn't know what that meant so I looked it up: 1/16th sniffer on left / 5/8th dram on right So cool. I look forward to trying some new scents now. (Oh and they're on sale for $6 for three through July 26th if you were interested.) Samples are my friend. Oh and for those of you not on my LJ you can check out my Coconut Hut Scent Wishlist Post Here.) Anyway, that's about it for now. I'm hoping the sore throat doesn't get worse. And I'm trying to catch back up on my sleep from the combination of the insomnia and the three temp days last week. Thankfully, I've slept the last couple nights and look forward to the easy week to rest back up. Night to all.
