There are people on the net that have nothing better to do with their time
then be nasty to other people online. They post rude comments, spend hours
a day talking about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend hours a
day talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and posters for their
opinions and their right to free speech. They expect everyone to fit into
their narrow-minded little world view or else they throw a temper tantrum.
To these people I say grow up.
Here's a bit of info people...the web is
a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here, or who I am, or what I
do, or talk about, or what I look like, or the color of my hair, or
whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go somewhere else. It's
really, really easy. Honest. You just click the little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending, big, mean and nasty
site has disappeared.
I pay for this site. It's mine. That
means I can use it for whatever the hell I want to. Don't like it if I'm
bitching about something in my life? Oh fucking well. Go somewhere else.
Think I'm stupid for expressing my thoughts? Too fucking bad, don't read
them. Somewhere along the line, someone forgot this simple fact: Live
and let live Don't like me, cool, fine, whatever, I don't care.
This journal is NOT for you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or
fame or anything stupid like that. I write it because I need to write and
express myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read or don't,
it doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours) bitching about it.

Halloween Approaches!
This is a reminder...Halloween is getting closer. And what better accessory for halloween then your very own pair of custom horns? They're a great part of a costume or! for those of you who want something more subtle but still a ton of fun, they make a costume of their own. Last year, I had to run errands on Halloween, so I went out and about in my pair of horns for the day. What fun I had! I've also worn them to work and received a lot of compliments. They're great for parties and they do double work if you go clubbing or are a fan of Ren Faires. I look for reasons to wear my pairs throughout the year. I sell them on ebay this time of year but you can order then direct for less. (Ebay ones are generally a couple dollars more to help cover my listing costs and fees.) If you don't see exactly what you like on PhoenixFire Designs, just email me and we'll come up with something different. Like a style but want a different color? No problem. Want it smaller or larger? Can do! There's an extreme amount of variation possible and I'm always happy to take custom orders. The last few years, I've had dozens of very happy customers from all around the world (literally!) and I'm looking to make another good season as well. So keep in mind what you'd like and let me know. I often get busier the closer to Halloween we get so it's best to put your order in a little earlier. (Plus it saves you on shipping so I don't have to send it rushed.) The sky's the limit! So take a look around, tell me what you like, and let's get your order in now. :)

Bummed
So, A. was supposed to work through tomorrow but came in this morning (apparently) and said she was finishing up today. When I came in after lunch, she was already gone for good. Ookay then. Worked with A2. today and then spoke with K. when she left at 5pm. (Office closes at 5:30pm.) K. felt that she'd see if A2. could fly on her own, so my short stint back at the temp job is now officially over. *sighs* I was expecting to work at least through tomorrow if not the end of the week. Now I'm $90 less then I'd hoped. (Only pulling in 13 1/4 hour in the last three days.) Sucks because I really, really needed the money. I'm not sure about A2. though. She lacks tact and...refinment. I know she's only 23, but she's a little ghetto 23 if you know what I mean. Spent way too much time texting on her cell, replying to her myspace messages - while answering the phone - and sharing way too much personal information. (You don't tell someone the first day you meet them - especially the person who's training you - about how you walked out of your last job and told them off, nor show them the print out of the thirteen collection accounts on your credit report, nor on the second day you've met them share that you used to be a cocaine addict. I mean, woah. Oversharing!) K. was also concerned because she showed up today in a tank top and I don't think she was wearing a bra. She's a larger girl, so she's heavy ontop. And she was spilling out of her shirt all day. It was a sexual harrassment lawsuit waiting to happen. I know it probably sounds catty, but she's a nice enough girl, but she's got some lack of polish issues to be sure. And I worry she's not self-motivated enough. She seemed waaaay too interested in her Yahoo Messanger, cell phone, and myspace despite the fact I tried to convey to her that you should always try to keep busy and ask if there's things you can help with and only quietly entertain yourself if all else fails. (I also mentioned to her not to stream audio because it's a problem for the network if too many people do it and instead to bring in, say, a mix cd or radio if she wanted to listen to some quiet music. Instead, I come in at lunch and she's streaming audio. Did she forget or just not care? She also started an expense report backwards from how I showed her how to do it. There's a reason I said to go through each itemized item and match it to the receipt. You can't trust the summary page to be right and if it's not, then you have to go through line-by-line anyway, so why double the work? She had this half-second of real annoyance - *dramatic heavy sigh moment* - before we started it over the right way. It's like, look girl, I've been doing this for two years helping K. and I've taught two people how to do this job. Trust me when I say I know the best way to do it - and do it RIGHT. Anyway, I'm just frustrated. I don't feel like she's ready to do it on her own and I worry she's going to screw something up. We didn't have enough invoices or expense reports to do and I'm not sure she got it. I think she'll try to just muddle through it and it'll end up wrong - and thus more work and confusion for K. Oh well. It's out of my hands. K. told me how she wished we could have kept A. on mornings and I on afternoons since I was the only one who did things properly and thouroughly, but they couldn't justify splitting the position and besides, A. didn't want to do anything of it anyway. Still, it would have been so perfect. All-in-all a bummer of a day. What else is new though, eh?

Teaching A Temp
Will be heading off in a minute to the temp job. First day with the new replacement. It's going to be a shitty, boring afternoon. I won't even be able to entertain myself with surfing to pass the time. I'm going to have to sit around, stare at the new temp squished in the too-small space with me and chat. *shudders* I hate hours of small talk like that. Save me!

Training Another Replacement
So A. is having her last day at the temp job on Thursday apparently. And the new replacement - another "A" so we'll call her A2 - was supposed to start today. But instead, she'll be in tomorrow. This sucks on many levels. (1) I get to share in training yet another replacement. (2) My stint at the temp job is shorter then I'd hoped. No chance whatsoever of getting my damned glasses replaced now. Bitches. It's bad enough that they've been scratched for months but I can't, you know see anymore from them. I'm too scared to drive at night for the blur and inability to see. It's also going to make for a boring week. Normally, I fill my afternoons with surfing and chatting. But with another trainee around, I'll have to chat with her instead. Sit around, stare at each other and just generally be uncomfortable. Bah. My stomach was hell this morning. Still massively unhappy now. Feels like food poisoning or something but I know it can't be. It's just a massive flare up I guess. Miserable though. Few things make your entire life as hellish as stomach problems. That's really it for the moment. Just a minor update on my upcoming week.

Going Back One Last Time
This is just a super quick entry to let you know of a site update. I've got a killer migraine, but I wanted to post the link to the photos. Tying in with the post with a pic of "Doc" Brown and I (seen here), I've updated a new section on my site with a small photo tribute of the Back to the Future: The Ride. Sadly, this landmark attraction is closing down forever at Universal Studios Florida at the end of this month. I absolutely love all things BttF, so I made a trip out there last Sunday (9/10/06) to ride it one last time. I took a bunch of photos and I put them together in rememberance. http://www.giveneyestosee.com/bttf/ Back to the Future: The Ride, you will be missed.
