There are people on
the net that
have nothing better to do with their time then be nasty
to other
people online. They post rude comments, spend hours a
day talking
about sites they hate so much, that they well, spend
hours a day
talking about them. (lame) They mock the owners and
posters for
their opinions and their right to free speech. They
expect everyone
to fit into their narrow-minded little world view or
else they throw
a temper tantrum.
To these people I say
grow up.
Here's a bit of info
people...the
web is a HUGE place. If you don't like what I say here,
or who I am,
or what I do, or talk about, or what I look like, or
the color of my
hair, or whatever asinine thing you dwell on, go
somewhere else.
It's really, really easy. Honest. You just click the
little "x" in
the corner of your browser and *poof* the offending,
big, mean and
nasty site has disappeared.
I pay for this site.
It's mine.
That means I can use it for whatever the hell I want
to. Don't like
it if I'm bitching about something in my life? Oh
fucking well. Go
somewhere else. Think I'm stupid for expressing my
thoughts? Too
fucking bad, don't read them. Somewhere along the line,
someone
forgot this simple fact: Live and let live Don't
like me,
cool, fine, whatever, I don't care. This journal
is NOT for
you. It's for me. I'm not in it for popularity or fame
or anything
stupid like that. I write it because I need to write
and express
myself and get things out of my head sometimes. So read
or don't, it
doesn't matter, but don't waste my time (or yours)
bitching about
it.

already.
Whew! We're home. Went fantastic. Food was greatly enjoyed. Art much appreciated. Nice turn-out - about 100 people I'd guess. Exhausted. Had a nice time, glad it's over.
Now we're starving (didn't eat dinner) so it's time to scrounge food and relax.
TODAY! OMG. Panic. Today is the day. T-minus just over two hours to go. Mini quish in the over. Outfit picked. Pictures hung. Need to run out the door in a matter of moments ladden down with food to arrange at location, check.
Publicity I know, I know. I'm talking about Love's Gallery Opening a lot but it's big-time news around here. And we're very excited over the whole thing and getting really giddy since it's so close.
I just thought I'd share a couple cool finds advertising the event. First off, the "Happenings" page starts off with his event which leads to a nice full page ad for it!
And then, one of the local newspaper websites has a section on their website called "Things to Do" and their arts event page lists the event as well!
It's just fun to see it published in other places, you know? I'm so proud. Ok, back to work. Need to finish getting the print information done today because installation is tomorrow from 11am - 5pm with shopping for the food after that.
Note: (T minus THREE days until Love's Gallery Opening & SIXTEEN days until my 30th birthday!)
Busy, Busy, Busy! Saturday was full of errand running and general Getting Things Done day.
Sunday we made a near last-minute decision to hit WDW for the afternoon with our friend Rand along as well. It was insanely smoky as we drove closer to Orlando on I-4 (no smoke at all back in the Tampa Bay Area when we left) so we assumed it was smoke from some wildfires/brushfires in the area. Nope, turns out it was fires in Georgia that were blowing through parts of Florida. Some roads in Jacksonville were closed due to the loss of visibility and all of Orlando was freaking out and flooding 911 with calls. The smoke and burning smell was that thick. Bear in mind that it's a good 4-5 hours just to get to the Georgia border when driving from Orlando, so that's a hell of a fire.
Today my mom came by for a few hours before her doctor's appointment. I ran to the post office and got the purple bridesmaid order shipped out as well as another earring order that came in last night. I need to make the Adina order next and get that out in the next day or so. Of course, the next few days are pretty crazy....
Tuesday we are going to run over to the library after Love gets home from work to actually do the installation for the gallery. I'm stressing this part more than anything since it involves a lot of unknowns, math and general won't know how it looks until it's done kinda moments. Everything needs to be spaced, lined up, and coordinated to look good. Oh yeah and Love needs to finish pieces he intends to be included that are not yet done.
Wednesday Rand is going to leave work a little early so he can take me down to Costco to pick up the food for the event. He has a membership and we priced out the items from there and since we're getting some perishable items, it's best to get it close to the date as possible. I don't want to get it Thursday day just because that's pushing it in the event something goes wrong.
Thursday is the opening itself! Eghads it came up fast!! We've had so many people express interest in coming that I hope the majority do show up. It will crush him if 200 people said they'd be there and it's us, his parents and my mom only, you know? People often say they're coming to events but then don't make it and this means the world to him so I want it to be a massive success.
So just...whew. It's going to be crazy around here. If I am slow to reply to comments or emails, bear with me. There's a lot going on this week. I'm still around, just flustered. Hope everyone had a nice weekend and a good week to come!
Always Do My Best Thinking... What is it about the bathroom? You always come up with ideas or figure things out there. (At least I do anyway.) And I don't just mean using the bathroom - though sure that's part of it - I mean when you're getting dressed, or taking a shower, or whatever. It's like all those random thoughts come together into one, cohesive form there.
What prompted me to write the entry was one such AH HA! moment tonight. I'm getting ready to take a shower and I'm thinking about the episode of StarGate: Atlantis we watched tonight on dvd. (We're on the second season having missed it in first-run on tv.) Anyway, the name of the episode was "Trinity" and when it was over, I asked out loud, "why was it named 'Trinity'?"
So there I am, getting ready and I'm thinking about the episode and then I start thinking about Carnivale for some reason. I don't know why and I can't understand why Atlantis would trigger a memory of Carnivale. Then it hits me. Trinity refers to the name of the place that they tested the first atomic bomb. And the reason that Carnivale came to mind as the link in my mind to that fact was that Ben's dreams told him about Trinity and the "false sun" that goes off there. Of course, he didn't know what that meant because the setting took place before it happened, but I knew what the "false sun" referred to of course since it's long in the past.
The episode of Atlantis was named Trinity because of the atomic bomb testing. Carnivale was the mind-jog I needed to remember that I knew that fact. And the bathroom...? Well, that was where I had to be for it to all come together several hours later.
And thus, a totally random, weird and bizarre peak into my head entry was born. Good night all!
