<\/p>\nBackstory: I ran the dishwasher yesterday and noticed a big puddle on the kitchen floor. I think it’s leaking and being on the 3rd floor, that’s not especially good news for the apartment below us. So I emptied it but didn’t refill it; instead just piling my dirty dishes in the sink until I could get maintenance out today to look at it.<\/p>\n
I got up, got ready and called the office to put in a request around noon. Explained I had a large puddle from my dishwasher and I think it’s leaking. I need them to come out so my apartment doesn’t flood and there’s no water damage to the one below me either. Proceed to wait ALL afternoon. No one shows.<\/p>\n
The office closes at 6pm so at 5:45pm I call back. I’m up late working every night working on my jewelry. I’m not a morning person so I don’t want the maintenance guy showing up at 8:30am when I’m asleep or in my pj’s. I want them to make a note to come in the afternoon tomorrow instead of the morning. (If I could sit around waiting all day on you today, you can come in the afternoon tomorrow when it’s convenient for me.)<\/p>\n
Call goes like this:<\/p>\n
Me: Hi, this is me<\/i> in apt 123. I called at lunchtime about my dishwasher. They haven’t been out yet, so I’d like to make sure they come after lunch tomorrow since I work nights.
\nHer: Apartment 123?
\nMe: Yeah I –
\nHer: Hold on.<\/p>\n
…puts me on hold…<\/p>\n
Her: They’re not going to be there today.
\nMe: Uh, yeah I figured that part out already. I just wanted to make sure you made a note that they don’t come to my apt first thing in the morning since –
\nHer: Apt 123?
\nMe: Yes<\/b><\/i>. Apartment 123. Look, the point though is I work nights so can you please tell them to come any time after<\/i> noon tomorrow instead of first thing in the morning?
\nHer: Fine. hangs up<\/i><\/p>\n
Seriously? It took you three tries to remember what my apartment number was AND you interrupted the actual reason for the call as well? I loathe bitchy apartment workers. There’s a nice lady in the office and the bitch. Of course both times I called today, I got the bitch. Lucky me.<\/p>\n
Knowing how screwed up the office is down there, I bet they’ll be knocking on my door absurdly early tomorrow. <\/p>\n
And of course since they didn’t come out, my sink is STILL stacked full of dishes that I don’t want to load up in my dishwasher only to have to take them back out when the guy shows up.<\/small><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
