Love accidentally washed his $250 Samsung Caliber cell phone in with the laundry. He discovered it when he was putting the clothes into the dryer. We opened it up completely; unscrewed all the tiny screws and pried the damned back off – which was really hard!! – took the mircoSD card and battery out (no SIM card) and began a 20 minute low heat\/low speed blow dry into all the little nooks followed by putting it in a bowl of uncooked rice to try and draw out any remaining water.<\/p>\n
It was his birthday present in February. I can’t tell you how much I hope it’s salvageable. There’s simply no way we can afford to replace it. Not after $4,000 of car repairs last month!<\/p>\n
Keep your fingers crossed please!<\/p>\n
(And no, we didn’t opt for the insurance coverage on it. Never suspected he’d accidentally launder it. And the Samsung warranty doesn’t cover water damage.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
