Spent a few hours at the vet this morning between the exam, waiting for the blood work results and such. Mika is there at the vet and they’ll be doing her dental this afternoon. Her blood work came back ok and the doctor didn’t want to wait until next week because she was afraid the tooth might abscess.<\/p>\n
So they’ll be knocking her out, doing x-rays, a full clean and whatever extractions are needed. She may lose the canine tooth and\/or a molar or two. It just depends on when she gets in there with the x-rays to really find out what’s what. There goes my paid off Care Credit card. I wound up maxing it out ($500) and then the remaining balance (which depends on the number of extractions – probably somewhere between $80-$125) I’ll pay next week when we get paid. Sucks but you have to do what you have to do you know?<\/p>\n
Anyway, now’s the waiting. They will be doing the dental later this afternoon. I didn’t have Mika fast because I didn’t know we’d be doing it today so she wanted to wait a little bit for her 5:30am breakfast to have more time to get through her system. I should hear back from them late afternoon. I’m nervous of course because it’s always scary having to use anesthesia on a kitty – especially an older, senior one. She’s my tabby girl and I love her and I want her to be ok of course, so naturally….I’m worrying.<\/p>\n
