So I’ve been meaning to make an update for quite some time now (obviously) and for one reason or another just haven’t. Thus, you get a quick-and-dirty run through of the past week.
Saturday, April 24th
Went to Ikea. Bought our first ever curtains and a rod. Discovered rod was too small. Went to Target. Bought bigger rod. Discovered it’s damn hard to install without a drill. Discovered ceiling isn’t straight. Discovered vertical blinds on sliding glass door were in way. Took down blinds. Hung curtains. Hated curtains.
Sunday, April 25th
Went back to Ikea. Returned curtains. Looked for different ones. Found a rod and double hook that was exactly what we needed. Went to Lowe’s. Bought drill. Didn’t realize drill needed 8 hours to charge. Had no coverings on entire wall of glass doors in living room. Plugged in drill, ate, used it anyway. Sorta liked curtains. But they still need to be hemmed and we need a valence. Jury’s out if we’re going to keep them or not.
Weekend Lesson: Picking out and hanging up curtains is hard. Looks much easier on TV.
Monday, April 26th
Had spent much of Sunday evening/night having breakdown. Didn’t sleep overnight. Called into work. It was a bad day emotionally for me. Love came home from work and we went to dinner with Rand’s mom. Cried there too. *sigh*
Tuesday, April 27th
Went to work. Didn’t want to of course but pushed through. Hated every moment I was there. It’s just so repetitive and sitting there all day, trapped to the phone sucks. Even when it was slow at my last job I could at least get up and walk down the hall and stuff. Stretch my legs. Here? I literally can’t do anything because I’m tethered. I hate my job.
Wednesday, April 28th
I have off every Wednesday and Love took the day off so we went out to WDW. Walked around Epcot a bit, took pics, and then went to MK. It was dead. Almost everything was a walk-on. And the weather was amazingly cool with a breeze, low humidity and unseasonably nice temps. (It was only in the high 70’s.) I didn’t want to leave but we both had to work the next day so we headed home around 7pm. It was a really nice day.
Thursday, April 29th
More work. More hating it. The plus side? I went for a much-needed massage after work. My shoulder was a giant knot of spastic agony. It had been running down my arm for days.
Friday, April 30th
Spent the whole night being up with my stomach in a churning mess. Got out of bed several times to utilize the facilities. Had gotten no sleep, so called my boss around 7:00am leaving a message that I’d do the 10am-4pm shift (instead of 9am-3pm) so I had more time to rest. Got up, started getting ready, got sick. I don’t puke. So if I do, it’s bad. And if I do, things get worse not better. Had to call my boss 15 minutes before I was due in and tell him I was throwing up and I wasn’t going to make it. That was fun. Almost as much fun as being miserably sick to my stomach the whole day. Love and I watched Avatar for the first time. He really liked it. I liked it too but it’s no Back to the Future. 😉
Saturday, May 1st
Didn’t sleep well last night. (Noticing a pattern?) Stomach hurt again. Finally slept for two good hours from about 10:30am-12noon. Got up, felt a little better. Love and I had some simple errands to run today – library, cat food, etc. – so we did that but not much else. And of course, tonight I wrote up this entry.
Today is also officially my birthday month. I’d normally be counting down obsessively but I’m still really depressed and looking at our finances for this month and seeing how I have to renew my car registration AND license this year (to the sum of about $120) and given the fact my birthday shows up in the week between paychecks and the week after rent week, and given that our passes expire on May 10th and we don’t have the money to renew them meaning I can’t even go to Disney on my birthday … I’m rather down about it all.
Bah.
So that’s the past week. Thrilling all-around.
