Seriously?? Etsy puts “handpicked” items on their front page. It’s usually a theme and often I wonder where they come up with the items. But seriously, this one takes the cake.
The rubber stamp that I’ve outlined? It’s a stamp I happen to own. Bought it in the $1.00 bin at Micheal’s. How in the world that – a dollar item, mass produced rubber stamp – deserves to be featured on the main page is utterly beyond me. Oh and to add insult to injury, it also has “handmade” as a tag. (In addition to “supply” and “commercial” Somehow I guess that makes it alright.) Oh and when I tried to point it out on the forums? I was shot down by the admins for “calling out” a member. Hell fucking yeah I’m calling them out – IT’S NOT HANDMADE.
Bullshit, Etsy. Bullshit.
It’s obviously quite a cliquey place by the sounds of it. You’re completely right on this one… It’s obviously no homemade and members should not be shot down for “calling out”. Its sounds a bit like primary school when a kid would tell a teacher that so & so did something and the teacher would tell them off for tattle-tailing when it was the kid that did wrong that should have been told off!
I don’t use Etsy myself, though I do look around some smaller UK sites that provide a similar service, MISI (misi.co.uk) being my favourite.
