It's nuts outside. Seriously. Ever since yesterday late afternoon, the winds have been constantly insane. It's near continuous gusts between 25-40MPH. There are wind advisories for at-to-above gale force winds and small craft advisories saying the winds can and will flip boats! Seriously, ridiculously windy!!
It's also super cold. It's 48F (9C) outside with a feels-like of 40F (4C) outside. And this is as warm as it's going to get today! Tonight, they're calling for a hard freeze. Temps to get around 29F (2C) in our area and even colder than that just an hour's north of me. Our typical average high for the day is 74F (23C) so, um, yeah, HUGE difference!
I know it's colder in other places, but again, I remind you I live in central Florida. I'm in a sub-tropical climate. So this is pretty damned cold. And sustained overnight lows below freezing is cold no matter where you live!
The wind though – holy cow that's something crazy. Welcome to living on a peninsula!
