This afternoon, we braved the intense June Florida heat to head to downtown St. Petersburg. I wanted to walk around and get some photos with my new camera. And since Love really loves the area, it seemed like a win-win. Of course, it was INSANELY hot and it even rained briefly (like 5 minutes worth) but all told, we still had a really nice time.
We walked out to The Pier so I could get some shots from higher up.
Along the way, we spotted these guys:
The view from the top was awesome. Plus, it was SO WINDY it cooled us off completely. And did I mention the view? (Click for larger.)
After that, we walked over to The Museum of Fine Arts. I read they had this neat thing called an Art-O-Mat that was a converted cigarette machine that dispensed small, random art for $5. Sounded really neat.
It’s a larger, dimensional, ceramic button from “Art by Ronda” Neat! There were all kinds of things; some were more labeled than others. I was intrigued because this one said “porcelain” and that sounded cool. I can see how this would be addicting – you just want to know what are in the others!
So a really nice afternoon. Cheap, enjoyable and I got to take almost 300 photos too! LOL So a good day all-around.
