Two things I’ve been slacking about by the end of 2013 were updating my blog and not only taking, but editing and sharing some of my photography.
Photography is a real passion of mine and I haven’t really been giving it a lot of time in general. Even when I DO take photos, rarely do I get around to reviewing or sharing them. Which is like half the point.
So Saturday afternoon, Love and I went over to Busch Gardens (Tampa) for a couple hours. It was overcast and windy but we managed two hours before the storms rolled in and I got quite a few nice photos out of it. And thus, in keeping with trying to be better about both blogging and photography, here are some of the selections from the day.
…and last but not least, I wasn’t kidding about the Guinea Fowl! 😉
(All of these were taken with my trusty EF-S 55-250mm IS lens and Canon T4i camera. I rarely bother with anything except a telephoto when shooting at BG due to the distance between the animals and yourself.)
Fantastic shots!
My photography has taken a back seat recently, I really should get back to it. I think I need to invest in a decent telephoto lens when I’ve got some spare cash.
Thanks!!
And yeah, I hear ya. I just haven’t had a lot of time for it the past few months and I miss it. The 55-250mm is cheap but does the job admirably. I got it for a steal and with the IS, I tend to get pretty good shots out of it. It’s not pro level by any stretch but I’ve found it a reliable lens.
My next purchase is a better replacement for the kit lens. I’m drooling over the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM which I’ve read is near “L” glass quality without the “L” price. But at about $800, while a fair price for good glass, is still currently outside my budget. Heh
