One of the highlights for me each year at the Flower and Garden Festival in Epcot is the butterfly garden! I absolutely love taking pictures of butterflies. Now, I have a compact point-and-shoot digital camera that, while it takes great pics, only has a 3x zoom. Butterflies are tricky little things and in a big tent full of people and kids chasing them, pointing at them, trying to get them to land on their hands, etc., getting close enough to get a great shot can be a challenge!
I missed the butterfly garden until the very last day of the Festival, but I think I did pretty good. Here’s a few of the shots I like the best from the bunch. All pictures taken Sunday, May 14th and all are au natural. The only post work I did was resize for the blog and put my watermark on them. I’m a digital photo purist.
There was also a beautiful yellow/black butterfly I tried chasing down but he just kept fluttering away and not landing! Like I said, tricky little buggers.
So beautiful! Stunning colours too 🙂
Thanks!
