Festival of the Masters

Last Sunday we drove out to Orlando to see the Festival of the Masters art show in Downtown Disney. 2010 was it’s 35th year and it’s a lovely event. It’s completely free and runs Friday-Sunday in November each year. There’s all sorts of amazing art, booths, sidewalk chalk artists and other events. This year, in celebration of the upcoming release of Epic Mickey (the new Wii game), they had artists doing free sketches. I was able to get one of Mickey holding a paintbrush.

Last year for my birthday, I purchased a sketch of Figment and had it framed in purple and silver and I think I’m going to mat this one in red and frame it up as well. It’s just a fun little item. The artist who drew it for me, Celeste Cronrath, apparently has made pins as well as apparently, a super awesome Tomorrowland mug that Love and I own. Too cool!

Anyway, it was a real treat and I had a lot of fun. Mickey was the perfect icing on my art show cake!
