Step one: Make a post with 10 wishes. Wishes can be little or big, silly or pipe dream. What matters is that it’s things you really want.
Step two: Surf around to find other lists. Here’s the important part – if you find a wish you can grant, make their wish come true.
You needn’t spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn’t to put people out, it’s to provide everyone a chance to be someone else’s holiday elf–to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not–it’s your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just…wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you’ll have the joy of knowing you made someone’s holiday special.
(If you are on the Holiday Wishes LJ Community you can also find my list here.)

About Me
Greetings! I’m Miss M., I’m 33 and I live in Florida with my guy and two kitties. I battle through chronic pain and illness and because of this, am unable to hold a “normal” full-time job. I’m doing my best to currently keep a part-time job even though it’s tough. (And that I hate the job itself.) I also run a small business called PhoenixFire Designs where I make custom jewelry and other items as a means of supplemental income. My dream is to make PhoenixFire Designs my only job but…that’s really tough.
This has been a very sad year for me. Our best friend, Rand, passed away very unexpectedly and suddenly in March after 911 call, open-heart surgery and weeks in a coma in CCU. He was like a brother to me and his loss has really thrown me through all sorts of grief and depression. I’ve never lost someone so close to me before and it’s been very tough. (You can read more about it on my Rand tag on my journal.) I experienced panic attacks for the first time ever and it’s really affected me in every aspect of my life. I’m getting better but every thing that comes along that it’s the first without him is tough. I know Christmas will be another tough one too. I’m hoping that by throwing myself into other things -like Holiday Wishes – I can find some joy and cheer to keep my mind from dwelling the sorrow so much, you know?
Wishlist!
1. To have a good season on PhoenixFire Designs. (And/or my etsy storefront)
I make truly lovely, unique pieces including my world-famous Tree of Life pendants. I put a lot of love and care into every item of jewelry I make and I really believe almost anyone can find something they love either for themselves or as a gift. (And, since it’s all handmade, I gladly customize!!) I work hard at my business and I hope you’ll help support artists such as myself bring back the personal touch to the holidays.
Even just spreading the word is helpful! Posting a banner or spreading my link (or etsy link) is greatly appreciated. You can post it in your journal, your facebook, twitter – anything! The more people know about it, the more I have a chance of getting buyers! I rely on my holiday sales a great deal to fund my Christmas.
2. Anything from my amazon wishlist.
I don’t mind gently used items. I’m a big believer that many things in life can be enjoyed by more then one person and shared. (And if you already own something on the list and want to pass it on, that’s awesome too!)
3. Handmade, handcrafted goodies of all kinds.
Being crafty myself, I love handmade items. Knit items, sewn items, stained glass, ceramics/pottery, crochet, embroidery, cross stitch, woodworking – all of it is awesome. I truly love things people made with their hands and skill. I have a wist full of handmade goodies I covet that might serve as inspiration! 🙂 One of my favorite things in the world is hand knit socks (size 6.5 US) That would be a totally amazing example of a handmade item. But there’s so many things I like in other categories too, so please share your craft skill with me!
4. Craft supplies!! (To feed my own craft addiction.)
Beading items like: Swarovski crystal, glass beads, gemstone beads, gemstone chips, spacers, metallic beads, memory wire, jewelry wire, etc. You can never have enough. I would also LOVE to try PMC (Precious Metal Clay.) That seems like an amazingly awesome product and new skill I’d like to try! Beyond beading, I’m also generally crafty (paper crafts, stamps, decoupage, polymer clay and tools, miniatures, etc.) so I’d love just about anything I can create with!
5. Daydream makeup/hair care/awesome bath and body items.
There’s so many cool things that I’d love to get from places like Sephora or Ulta. I’m kinda overwhelmed and in awe of those kinds of things so I’m never brave enough to spend the money on myself. But, there’s so much that catches my eye! Some examples…
— CHI flat iron (I iron my hair everyday and everyone says they’re the best but it’s SO not in my budget!)
— OPI or other “premium” brands of nail polish. (I love painting my toes funky colors!)
— Smashbox always looks like it has such neat eye shadows. Or mineral eye shadows! Browns/smokey/natural type shades are my favorite.
— Really cool make-up brushes/brush sets to apply those kinds of eye shadows.
— Some kind of travel kabuki brush to take my bare minerals foundation with me.
— Philosophy 3-in-1 shower gels in food/fruit/dessert scents.
…and that’s just off the top of my head. I’d love it if you helped me get fun and bold and help me try some neat stuff in these categories! I feel like I need a jump start you know?
6. Anything Disney.
I’m a big fan. I collect Disney trading pins, I have a bunch of Disney dvd’s, I enjoy Walt Disney World, and generally just love being a kid and having a total escape from the mundane that it offers. (This includes Pixar as well.) I live a little over an hour away from Walt Disney World and go as often as possible. (But I’ve never been to Disneyland.) I just love all things Disney! I also really like historical things about the parks, Walt himself, WED Imagineering, the studio, etc.
7. Gift certificates. For just about anywhere.
I would really love one for a clothes/shoes store, a national bookstore chain, or someplace for beauty items like Sephora/Ulta. (Places I never tend to spend money on myself in the name of “being responsible” at but would love to!) I don’t mind if you’ve used part of it and have $7.52 left on it. I know sometimes people give you ones for places you might not like or need or use and they sit and collect dust in your wallet.
8. US Postage and/or US Postage Stamps.
Silly perhaps but practical. I sent out so many cards last year and a bunch of packages but of course, postage costs add up. Stamps for Canada and International letters would be awesome too. (It would help me send more out-of-US cards.) Help me spread more holiday cheer by enabling my postage needs.
9. My pipe dream wish: A digital countertop kiln. Yes I know it’s unrealistic. But sometimes you have to just put your intentions and dreams out there to the universe to make them happen. I dream of making fused glass pendants, working with PMC and getting into new aspects of my jewelry. So on the list it goes!
And last but certainly not least… 10. Holiday cards!
Bonus if they have penguins on them, or owls, or winter scenes and extra bonus if they are Yule/Solstice themed. But honestly, any and all cards are SO welcome! I absolutely love mail. I check my mailbox every day because I just love getting mail. It’s like a present.
