The week kinda wooshed by. I meant to post a real entry a few times but just never wound up having the chance. Quick recap…
Monday – we went and picked up our Christmas Tree. We were going to do it Sunday but…there was that whole speaker incident and my mild concussion. Monday day I also wound up having to get more antibiotics for poor Gracie. Her UTI came back. (I don’t think she managed to actually consume enough of the antibiotics the first time around. She was so difficult even when we mixed it in with a range of things that I don’t think she got enough of the dose.)
Tuesday – I honestly can’t remember off the top of my head why we didn’t get a chance to start working on the tree that night but we didn’t.
Wednesday – We wound up having dinner with Rand’s parents. Kind of a last-minute thing. We hadn’t seen them in a few months and they had asked us for copies of the photos off his old hard drive, so we burned them to DVD plus gave them the hard drive itself for safe keeping. They are heading back to Holland right for Christmas and will be having a ceremony for both Rand and his brother’s ashes. It was good to see them again and we caught up over a few hours of chatting. By the time we got home, we didn’t wind up getting to really work on the tree that night either.
Thursday – Finally got the lights up on the tree. Had problems with multiple sets of lights just not working for no discernible reason. Love had to run out and pick up a small strand of white since I put a mixture of colored and white lights on the tree. (And all but the tiniest white strand simply would not work.) It was kinda late at that point to get working on the ornaments because well, they take about 2.5-3 hours to do, so we called it a night with the lights.
Friday – We had our bi-weekly meeting tonight so I didn’t leave work until after 6:30pm. I cooked dinner, we watched a little TV and then popped in It’s A Wonderful Life and got to work on the tree. It’s done! Looks awesome as always. 🙂 Quickie shot (please excuse the lightning; I didn’t bother doing any fancy white balance settings and my lamp always wrecks havoc with it if I don’t get creative.)
Tomorrow (Saturday) – We’re going to see the Lightning! Got ourselves some freebie tix right on the glass. $202 per ticket seats. Sweet! It’s good to be friends with someone who’s engaged to a woman who’s Dad owns like VIP boxes and such for the team. Looking forward to seeing the game for sure.
Alright well, there’s more I’m sure but that’s enough for now. Tired and need to get myself ready for bed.
Your tree always looks so fabulous. It’s my inspiration to get my tree to that state someday 🙂
Aw *blush* thanks! 🙂
