Health Insurance

We made a really good run at it. And it’s only through your support that I’ve been able to keep it going as long as I have. But I finally have to accept defeat and acknowledge I simply can’t pay my health insurance for August.

For months, I’ve struggled to keep it going. It’s been touch-and-go there for awhile. I’m close to getting some bills paid off but just not close enough. It just won’t happen soon enough to count.

Too many expenses are due right now. Our power bill of $166 needs to be paid (it’s been a record-breaking hot summer), we had the car window failure Friday ($60), multiple visits to the neurologist for Love ($25 copays add up) plus Rx changes for him and all told, it just ate up any money I could put towards the August premium.

I’ve just been running behind for months now, barely making the month’s premium by month’s end – only to then be faced with needing the following month’s premium already. I’m basically a payment behind and coming up with $237 is impossible enough, let alone double that to get caught up.

I’ve had a year of health insurance which is more than I can say for many. I’m 10 1/2 months post-op and while I won’t be able to get into the gyno for my annual, I feel good these days and everything should be ok.

I post this to update everyone on where we are in this long, difficult process and to sincerely send my thanks for all the help and support I’ve received this past year.
